ERVAS E ORIXÁS
HERBS AND ORISHAS
The Herbs and Orixas series was born out of Luzia’s life passions, where art and science meet with her sacred Afro-Brazilian tradition.
Her work, Herbs and Orixas: acrylic on canvas, series of 16 paintings that are divided into four groups, according to the four elements of nature associated with the Orixás:
In each element there is a subset of four paintings that are presented in a specific canvas format associated to that quality: Rectangular, Square, Round an Oval.
The work is very rich with depictions of plants and their cellular composition and how each of these sacred herbs is associated with an Orixá (expressions of spiritual light).
